BEFORE YOU BEGIN

A few helpful answers.

What income belongs on Schedule E?

Schedule E covers the applicable rental real estate, royalty, partnership, S-corporation, estate, trust and REMIC income or loss. Farm rental from Form 4835 is reported on Line 40. Other rental activities may belong on different forms.

Which tax years are available?

The final 2025 original is available. The 2026 edition will be added when the final IRS original is available.

Are all rental losses deducted automatically?

No. Enter the eligible rental loss after applicable at-risk and passive-loss limitations, including zero if fully suspended. Released prior-year losses can be included when the applicable worksheet allows them.

What about personal use of a rental property?

Enter actual rental and personal-use days and only the allowed allocated income and expenses. Vacation-home rules and the fewer-than-15-days rental-income exclusion can change what may be reported.

What does the S-corporation basis check mean?

Applicable losses, distributions, stock dispositions and loan repayments require a basis computation. The builder checks the relevant original box and asks you to prepare the required separate computation, including Form 7203 when applicable.

Does REMIC excess inclusion get added again?

No. Original Line 39 combines only columns 38d and 38e. Column 38c has special excess-inclusion treatment, which must be reviewed separately under the instructions.

Are Lines 42 and 43 extra income?

No. They are farming/fishing and real-estate-professional reconciliations. The builder does not add them again to Line 41.

Why is the second-page name area blank?

The original instructs you to omit the name and Social Security number there when already shown on the reverse. The complete packet shows them on page 1.

What does the price include?

$9.99 USD covers one complete two-page Schedule E PDF, with private access after checkout. The main return, filing and required additional forms are separate.
